How to be a Habitat Hero

Location
Worcestershire Parkway Classroom
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to think of and sketch out a realistic and suitable eco solution to protect and nurture an endangered species of British wildlife (the European hedgehog) that would otherwise be negatively impacted by a new town being built.
Duration
1 hour

Overview

Urbanisation is coming and we need everyone to do their bit to protect our precious British wildlife.

In this lesson, students will embark on an exciting journey to become ‘Habitat Heroes’, tasked with creating a sustainable solution to protect a precious British species – the humble hedgehog.

First, the students will explore the many varied habitats of Britain before discovering the top four reasons they are now under threat. They will examine real world sustainable solutions to these challenges, then work independently to design their own eco solution.
