Students will reflect on the part that horses played in World War One and learn about the significance of the Shirehampton Remount Depot in Bristol.

Overview

In this assembly, students will be transported back to WWI to learn about the remarkable bravery, strength and sacrifice of war horses.

From this, they will focus in on the Shirehampton Remount Depot, and learn how any why 300,00 of the magnificent beasts passed through there on their way to and from the battlefields.
