Students will be able to select vocabulary that reflects their knowledge of the role that horses played in WWI and how they feel about it.

Overview

In this lesson, students will be transported back to WWI to learn about the remarkable bravery, strength and sacrifice of war horses.

From this, they will focus in on the Shirehampton Remount Depot, and learn how any why 300,00 of the magnificent beasts passed through there on their way to and from the battlefields.

Students will collaborate to make their own War Horse Memorial.

KS1 ENGLISH (Reading):

Pupils should be taught to:
